We all walk with a limp. Every one of us. Our limps vary dramatically, from the obvious physical limps to the more emotional ones. Most of us are ashamed of our limps and we therefore work vigorously to hide them. And when they are so utterly obvious that we can’t hide them, we often run from them even though such an action is obviously impossible.
Yet, is it possible that without a limp we can’t really run? Are our limps things that in reality allow us to leap? Are there deep lessons in our limp, and is there profound growth in our less than smooth cadence that we could never experience if it weren’t for our limp? And is it possible that the growth and the lessons are indeed the very elements that allow us to grow to the point that our limp allows us to run in ways that others without limps will never know? Let’s take our limp and let’s run.
