Seasons – The Come and Go of Life

In the come and go of life we’re more apt to embrace what’s coming than to release what’s going. There is something in the accumulation of things that enhances our sense of security and stability as we ever further immerse ourselves in the soothing wrap of them. Conversely, releasing things sometimes has a stripping sensation where we’re becoming increasingly vulnerable and frighteningly raw. And so the come and go is much more about what’s coming and avoiding what’s going.

Yet, such obstructive behavior curtails the natural flow of life that is always moving us to the next place out of the perpetual reality that our current place has been expended in the preparation of whatever’s next. We settle into a space worn and emptied, and it is in identifying these dynamics that we are positioned to break them.
