Life is a forever stranger to stagnation. In whatever way life moves, it moves . . . always; often with impunity, sometimes graciously, and with irresistible persistence in whatever manner it moves. And because it does, life never leaves us where we were, nor does it allow us to stay what we are.

There was that delicate moment in time when both of you committed the best of yourselves to both the best and the worst of the other. And as time has elapsed, who you were at that most exquisite of moments has been honed by what you’ve experienced since. In the honing, it remains my prayer that the best of who you are has been made ever better, and that the worst of who you are might be harnessed in the service of the betterment of both of you. May you both continue to grow in the unswerving embrace of the other for a lifetime of anniversaries.
