Has it ever dawned on us that the resources that we are constantly about the business of obtaining always need to be replenished? Always. We are always in pursuit of whatever resources we need to meet even our most fundamental needs. Yet it seems that none of that ever lasts. There’s really nothing of permanence to anything. Everything is always temporary.
Nothing meets our needs in a way that’s permanent. This world of ours meets our needs in assorted pieces and parts that are themselves exhausted in the very act of using them. Is it possible that the inability of our world to meet our needs on a sustained basis without perpetual replenishment suggests that maybe we were made for another world? If this world is temporarily temporary, could it be that it is only temporary because we are not. It would seem that that question is certainly worth probing.
